What is meant by Energy conservation ?
.
Reduction in the amount of energy consumed in a process or system through economy. (  This include both initial cost & running cost )

Elimination of  waste.

And rational use.

What Is Energy Audit?

To systematically identify  opportunities for saving energy in the system / plant / process. ( Use of innovative ideas )

To look for the  wastages in a process or equipments.

To study energy consumption pattern in order to assess the productive usage of energy.

The final recommendations for implementation should be economically feasible without much complexities and must give a short payback period.

Similar to financial audit, Reporting is the main objective of energy auditing, and other objective is detection & prevention of errors.

Results of Energy audit must show in savings in one way or other

  1. Initial cost by proper selection of equipment  with latest, suitable to our requirement ( Equipment should not be generalized for use but there must be variants to suite actual site requirement ) with facility to expand in the course of time with minimum changes.

  1. Running cost i.e. electricity & fuel charges and maintenance charges.

  1. Proper selection of equipment and environment result increase in life.
  2. Step I : Preliminary Walkthrough
  3. In this stage, site survey is carried out collecting preliminary data and identifies the potential areas for energy conservation Based on this detailed energy audit is done.
  4. Step I : Preliminary Walkthrough
    Features
    Benefits
    Methodology
    ·  Review of energy bills
    ·  Analysis of Energy trends
    ·  Prioritize key focus areas

    ·     Highlights major variances in billing
    ·     Highlights seasonality of cost & usage
    ·     Identify immediate areas of correction
    ·     Identify areas for detailed study from where major savings are expected
    ·  Walk through the site
    ·  Conduct interviews ,collect the basic data
Like electricity bills & connected load details
    ·  Inspect equipment ,fittings & accessories

    Step II: Detailed Energy audit

Using various instruments, carry out a detailed study & suggest techno-feasible solutions for energy savings.

    Step II: Detailed Energy audit

    Benefits
    Methodology
    ·  Detailed analysis of load profiles
    ·  Model energy usage
    ·  Quantify savings & cost of energy
    ·  Identifying energy consumption baseline for air-conditioning, lighting, and energy intensive utilities
    ·  Review of operation & maintenance practices

    ·     Quantifies savings & cost of implementing energy efficiency programs
    ·     Establishing long-term energy  management goals
    ·     Focuses on areas or services that offer the greatest benefits

    ·  Detailed site inspection
    ·  Detailed interviews
    ·  Performance trials on various equipment
    ·  Utilize sophisticated instrumentation for metering
    ·  Use of software for analysis

Step III : Execution of Recommendations

To carry out recommended changes after getting administrative approval & expenditure sanction, which will give you guaranteed savings for HVAC, lighting & other utilities.

Step III : Execution of Recommendations
